ALCHE Students Engage with Greenpeace Africa During Rainbow Warrior III Visit

ALCHE Students Engage with Greenpeace Africa

ALCHE students recently had the opportunity to engage with Greenpeace Africa during the visit of the Rainbow Warrior III to Mauritius, connecting students with global conversations around environmental advocacy, sustainability, and climate action.

The Rainbow Warrior III, Greenpeace International’s flagship campaigning vessel, docked in Mauritius as part of its ongoing global operations supporting environmental campaigns, marine research, and climate-focused initiatives. During the visit, students attended the vessel’s welcoming ceremony and learned more about the role of environmental advocacy in shaping policy, conservation, and public awareness efforts worldwide.

Following the event, representatives from Greenpeace Africa visited the ALCHE campus to engage directly with students through discussions focused on sustainability, environmental leadership, and climate-related challenges affecting the continent.

The engagement provided students with an opportunity to connect classroom learning to real-world environmental work while gaining insight into how international organizations approach research, advocacy, and ecosystem protection.

Experiences such as these reflect ALU’s emphasis on experiential learning and ecosystem exposure, giving students opportunities to engage with industries, organizations, and initiatives shaping Africa’s future.
