Application & Admissions Process

The application process to ALCHE Mauritius can be found below.:

Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria to join ALCHE before proceeding with your application.

Applicant age requirement
The applicant age requirement is in place to ensure that applicants are qualified and ready for a university education.
  • Minimum Age: 16 years old.
  • Applicants aged 16: Must undergo an interview to assess their readiness for university-level studies.
  • Applicants aged 17 who will turn 18 during their first year of study: No interview is required.
Please note: The applicant age requirement applies to the commencement of your studies, not the time of application.

Provide contact details for up to two parents/guardians, including consent for ALCHE to share application and program information.

Applications to ALCHE will be reviewed on a rolling basis and admission is based on the intakes preferred and available at the time of submission. You can expect to receive an admission decision to ALCHE within two to four weeks of submitting your application.

General Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the ALCHE program, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

Option 1:

  • Pass in three subjects at A-level and
  • Pass in one subject at Advanced Subsidiary/Subsidiary level at Higher School Certificate Examination or equivalent.

Option 2:

  • Pass in two subjects at A-level and
  • Pass in two subjects at Advanced Subsidiary/Subsidiary level at Higher School Certificate Examination or equivalent.

Option 3:

  • Pass in three subjects at A-level at the London General Certificate Examination (GCE) or equivalent.

a minimum of 21 points at HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level. The points are calculated based on grades obtained in 3 Advanced Level subjects taken in a single sitting, using the following scale:

A* =10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6 and E=5

Meet minimum requirements

Mathematics/One STEM subject at Grade C or above

International Baccalaureate (IB)

Total IB Points:

A minimum of 28 points overall is required for all undergraduate programs.

Higher Level (HL) Requirements:

A minimum of 15 points across three Higher Level subjects.

Standard Level (SL) and Core Component Requirements:

SL subjects and the core components (Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge) must contribute to the total score, with no fixed minimums beyond the overall 28-point requirement.

At least one STEM subject at HL must be graded 4 or higher.

General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A-level Cambridge)

a minimum of 21 points at GCE ‘A’ Level. The points are calculated based on grades obtained in 3 Advanced Level subjects taken in a single sitting, using the following scale:

A* =10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6 and E=5

a minimum of 21 points at GCE ‘A’ Level. The points are calculated based on grades obtained in 3 Advanced Level subjects taken in a single sitting, using the following scale:

If the applicant wishes to undertake CS or BSE, then the stream must be one of the following:

D – Mathematics and life and earth science (Mathématiques et sciences de la vie et de la terre)

E – Mathematics and technology (Mathématiques et technologie)

TI – Information technology (Technologies de l’information)

Cameroon

a minimum of 21 points at GCE ‘A’ Level. The points are calculated based on grades obtained in 3 Advanced Level subjects taken in a single sitting, using the following scale:

A* =10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6 and E=5

Mathematics/One STEM subject at Grade C or above

University Entrance Examination Certificate

Option 1:

7 subjects are required

A total score not less than 560

OR

Option 2:

a result of 50% or higher for at least 6 subjects; and

a total score (total) of at least 335.

AND successfully completed the first year of a bachelor’s degree in a subject relevant to the ALCHE program being applied for, from a HERQA-approved university (GPA 3/Letter grade B on all terms).

At least 80% in Mathematics and all Natural Sciences subjects undertaken ( Chemistry, and Physics)

Cambridge Higher School Certificate

Mauritius

a minimum of 21 points at HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level. The points are calculated based on grades obtained in 3 Advanced Level subjects (2 Subsidiary subjects may be considered for a total of 4 subjects) taken in a single sitting, using the following scale:

Advanced Level points: A* =10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6 and E=5

Advanced Subsidiary points: A* =5, A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1

International Students Requirements

International Students

Applying as an International Student

Step 1

Submit an application for ALCHE admission and ensure to select the Mauritius Campus as your preferred campus.

Step 2

Wait to receive an admission decision. It will take 2-4 weeks following application submission.

Step 3

After receiving a conditional/unconditional admission to ALCHE, submit scanned entry permit application documents (see the checklist below) on the Admissions Portal for review by the ALCHE immigration team.

Step 4

Once documents have been approved by the ALCHE immigration team, please send hard-copy documents by courier to the specified mailing address below.
Note: The documents to submit by courier must be the hard-copy AND original versions (as indicated below). These entry permit application documents will be reviewed and approved by the ALCHE Immigration Team via the ALU Admissions Portal.

Step 5

ALCHE puts together your entry permit application pack with all hard copies you sent by courier and submits it to the on your behalf.

Step 6

PIO informs ALCHE of your entry permit application decision, and ALCHE uploads the entry permit on the Admissions Portal for you to view and access.

Step 7

Travel to Mauritius as per Enrollment timelines (within entry permit validity as this permit expires after 3 months of issuance)

Step 8

Undergo a second medical test in Mauritius once matriculated and submit the report to ALCHE

Disclaimer: Ensure all documents are complete and authentic.  The PIO may deny or cancel permits for fraudulent submissions.

Refund Policy

The following events would qualify for a refund:

ALCHE finance team only does a reconciliation of accounts after graduation, when all outstanding balances are refunded to the alumnus. All extra payments during the student enrollment  shall be allocated to the proceeding term’s invoices.

Withdrawal from the programme, either voluntary or involuntary;

If ALCHE retracts its offer or is unable to offer the program, the student is entitled to a full refund.

Student withdrawal from the programme

If a student withdraws from a programme prior to the start of the academic year, 100% of tuition and related fees paid will be refunded except for insurance and medical check-up costs as these are remitted to third parties. An administrative charge of $300 will be applied.
