ALCHE Students Represent at Mauritius Art & Culture Investment Summit

On 24 March, students from the African Leadership College of Higher Education (ALCHE) participated in the Mauritius Art & Culture Investment Summit, contributing as volunteers and engaging with leaders across the creative and investment sectors.

Launched by ZeeArts Gallery, the summit brings together stakeholders at the intersection of art, culture, innovation, and sustainable investment. This event is part of a broader effort to position Mauritius as an emerging hub for cultural enterprise and creative investment.

A small group of ALCHE students supported the summit team on the ground, gaining exposure to industry conversations while building connections with practitioners across the ecosystem. During the event, the students also had the opportunity to meet H.E. Dharambeer Gokhool, President of Mauritius.

ALCHE’s presence at the summit also extended to its alumni network. Whitney Chinonye Ernest, an alumna of the institution, was featured as a panelist on a session titled “Building a Sustainable Art Market for African Narratives.”

Whitney is a cultural producer, data artist, and founder of WCE Studio, a visual knowledge practice focused on expanding how institutions and communities understand Africa’s social, political, and economic realities. Organisers of the summit noted that her contribution to the discussion was both timely and valuable.

The participation of both students and alumni reflects ALCHE’s growing engagement with the creative and cultural sectors, and its broader commitment to preparing young leaders to shape emerging industries across the continent.
