Dr. Stephen Naicken is the Director of Academic Programmes at ALCHE, where he oversees the undergraduate academic programmes. He has over a decade of experience in higher education, with a PhD in Informatics from the University of Sussex.
Dr. Naicken was a Research Fellow at the University of Sussex, where he co-developed HiveCore, a delay-tolerant network for football stadia. This resulted in a spinoff focused on enhancing wireless connectivity in sports stadia.
Dr. François Sarah currently serves as Programme Manager for the Entrepreneurial Leadership Programme at the African Leadership College of Higher Education. He joined the institution in 2022 as a Lecturer within the Social Sciences Programme.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Sarah held academic and research positions in both Mauritius and the United Kingdom, contributing to a range of research consultancies and scholarly initiatives in the course of his doctoral studies. His academic work has included archival field research in France, and he continues to lead and collaborate on multiple ongoing research projects focused on the history and political dynamics of the Indian Ocean region.
Dr. François Sarah was a member of the research team responsible for the development and authorship of the Africa Governance Report III, commissioned by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), during the period 2011–2013.
In 2022, he was appointed Senior Consultant to the Indian Ocean Islands Foundation, with a specific mandate relating to the preservation and promotion of Mauritius’ documentary heritage.
In partnership with an associate, Dr. Sarah co-founded a specialised training consultancy catering to foreign residents in Mauritius. The programme offers an in-depth orientation to the history, culture, political landscape, and economic environment of Mauritius and the broader Indian Ocean region.
He also serves on the boards of two non-profit organisations—one with an educational mission, the other focused on social development.
Allan Bartolome is the Software Engineering Programme Manager at ALCHE, responsible for overseeing the delivery and quality of the entire programme. He has a strong background in the education sector, having served as both faculty and head of department. Allan holds an MSc in Computer and Information Security from the University of Liverpool and is currently pursuing an EMBA at the Quantic School of Business.
During his time in Liberia, Allan conducted research entitled Assessment of Mobile Learning Implementation in Higher Education and Addressing Security Issues of Using Mobile Devices as a Learning Tool. He also co-headed the design and implementation of an online registration system and collaborated with various NGOs on different projects in Liberia. Allan is currently a Huawei Certified Academy Instructor.
Yovin Poorun is an experienced academic and technologist with over two decades of interdisciplinary expertise in computer science, ICT consultancy, and higher education leadership. He currently serves as a Program Manager of the Computer Science undergraduate program and is also the chairperson of the Academic Integrity Committee at ALCHE. His research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and societal impact, particularly in the contexts of education and public health.
Yovin Poorun brings over 14 years of robust experience in the ICT industry, specializing in enterprise systems implementation, project management, and technical consultancy. His career includes leading roles in top Mauritian firms such as Agileum Ltd, Afrasia Bank, Cisolve International, and Maureva Ltd, where he successfully managed Oracle ERP implementations, served as a Database Administrator, and led ICT projects across banking, consulting, and aviation sectors. His technical proficiency spans Oracle technologies, IT system architecture, and project delivery across both private and public sector engagements. His transition into academia was built on this deep practical foundation, bridging industry insight with education leadership.
Tineyi Madungwe is the Leadership Core and Foundations Manager at ALCHE in Mauritius. He has a strong background in both higher education and industry. Tineyi brings over 14 years of both industry academic experience, having worked in the banking, media, management consultancy and education sectors. Tineyi is passionate about equipping young people with the skills and mindset to drive meaningful change across the continent. He was awarded the ALC Leadership Core Faculty of the Year Award in 2021 and the Faculty Leadership Award in 2024 for his contributions to student learning and faculty leadership. Tineyi also manages the Swiss Exchange Program, one of the prominent global experience programs offered at ALCHE.
Tineyi has over 9 years of industry experience across the banking, media, and management consultancy sectors. He delivered impactful consumer analytics, financial insights, and strategic support to leading organizations. His work included working with and advising top consumer brands with market insights, managing large-scale retail and supply chain data, and delivering actionable recommendations to commercial teams. He has worked with media companies, providing media consumer insights. In his earlier career, he worked in finance and financial analysis, supporting finance teams with financial accounting and investment appraisals of a healthcare group.
